Abstract

Objective: The aim of the present study is to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Arizona Life History Battery (short version).

Method: The present study is a validation study of a measurement tool for correlational studies. Terms and vocabulary were culturalized. The questionnaire was distributed to 200 people for response. Then, the reliability of the questionnaire was conducted through Cronbach's alpha internal consistency and test-retest. Also, confirmatory and exploratory factor analysis was used to assess the construct validity.

Findings: The results of factor analysis showed that Cronbach's alpha for the main factor of the Childhood Environmental Risks Questionnaire was 0.82. Also, by conducting a test-retest, a correlation coefficient of 0.82 was obtained at a significance level of 0.99. The concurrent validity of this questionnaire with the Health Promoting Lifestyle Questionnaire was obtained as a correlation coefficient of 0.78 at a significance level of 0.99. The results showed that there were eleven strong significant factors with eigenvalues higher than one in this scale, which together explain 82.69% of the total variance. The chi-square ratio is 1.95. The goodness-of-fit index indicates the relative size of the variances and covariances explained by the model, which are here 0.91 and 0.90, respectively.

Conclusion: The Arizona Life History Battery questionnaire, which became the internal norm, has good validity and reliability. This questionnaire can be used in research.
